From the Lick Me epilogue
About twenty years ago, I lost
everything, including my mind for a while. Penniless and in the
depths of depression, with my OCD raging, I suddenly found myself
homeless. It was a lesson in humility and compassion, which,
thanks to my friend Jon Rick, hard work, and Prozac, was soon over.
Fifteen years ago, I drove cross-country from the Berkshires to
Hollywood where I established Europa Entertainment, Inc., the U.S.
office for the composer Vangelis, whom I'd met in '77
when we were both on RCA. And I continue to run it to this
day. My friendship and association with Vangelis has been the
greatest blessing of my life, because he's living proof that a
man can have as much integrity about his humanity as he does about
his music, the very thing I was always looking for in a
musician.
Without Vangelis’s encouragement, love, and
support, I could never have written this book.
